Sowing Instructions
Direct sowing outdoors in the fall is the best for these, as they need to go through a full winter and spring. This can also be achieved artificially indoors, but it is a multi-step process of scarification, warm stratification for 60 days, and then cold stratification for 60 days, before finally sowing into containers 6 weeks before winter’s final frost. They can then be safely transplanted once the danger of frost has passed. It is a shrub, so it needs plenty of space to grow in its final planting spot.
